The Human Liver: A Vital Organ in the Body
Liver is a vital organ in the human body. It plays an important role in multiple functions in the human body. Liver plays role in digestion and storage of nutrients in human body. It is important site of glucose metabolism and helps in storage of excess energy for future use.It also helps in the digestion of the food we eat. Liver produces bile, which helps in the digestion of the fats we eat. Bile is produced by liver and stored in the gall bladder and squeezed as per requirement by body. Liver also helps in management of the waste products of human body.It helps to excretes and manage the waste material and toxins produced in human body. Liver has a property to regenerate its cells and even small amount of liver can help in managing body functions.

Understanding Liver Cancer Symptoms
Liver Cancer can present in wide variety of symptoms. Depending upon a what stage it is detected. In many cases, it may be detected incidentally while doing basic scans like ultrasound and CT scans, it may be totally non symptomatic in its early stage. Symptoms mostly come in the late stage of the disease when liver functioning is impacted. Important symptoms include the derrangement in the liver function which can be detected in the form of Jaundice. This very commonly seen with Yellowish discoloration of the eyes, skin or urine. When liver cancer is large in size, it can have pressure effects which can cause pain in the upper abdomen, can impair the metabolism of the liver and can lead to abnormal distinction of the stomach with fluid in the Peritoneal cavity which is seen as asicitis. Other important symptoms can be loss of appetite, difficulty in digestion of the foods and continues loss of the weight.
Liver Cancer Causes
Liver cancer is abnormal unregulated division of liver cells. Liver has property to regenerate itself and produce new cells. However many times this process of regeneration can become defective and lead to abnormal cell formation. It is commonly seen in cirrhotic patients.Liver cirrhoiss can be due to many causes which can lead to cancer. Liver cancer and cirrhois is associated with Excess alcohal intake.
- Non alcohlic liver disease.
- Viral infections like hepatitc B, C
- Multiple toxins.
It is important to detect these causes and prevent the cancer and treat it if required at early stages.

Treatments of Liver Cancer
Multiple treatments have developed over period of time for the treatment of the liver cancer which includes conventional treatments like surgical resection of the tumor to more advanced treatmeants like microwave ablation of the tumor.
Cancer has been conventionally treated through ayurvedic treatments and naturopathy, however with limited success rate. Surgical treatment involved complete removal of a section of the liver or a lobe of liver, where the cancer is present. However, it is in the expensive treatment which requires long stay in the hospital. And is highly expensive and cannot be carried out in every patient due to limitations. Other treatments that have developed our like liver transplantation. However, it is very expensive and and is very limitedly carried out due to non availability of the donor in many cases.
Radiotherapy and intravenous chemotherapy:
Radiotherapy and conventional intravenous chemotherapy have provided limited success rate in the treatment of the liver cancer.
More recently, advanced form of three tretments have developed In the recent times which not only prevents excessive stay in the hospital and is highly affordable.
Microwave ablation:
Microwave ablation is a new form of treatment which has many advantages in the form of limited hospital stay, no major cut and sutures and is highly affordable. It is a procedure which can be carried out on daycare basis also, and involve heat supply to the cancer cells through a specific electrode or antenna to kill the cancer cells. It can completely cure the liver cancer where the size of the tumor is less than 5 cm and upto 3 nodules. However recent advancement allows treatment upto 5 nodules in many cases with success.
Transarterial chemoembolization(Tace)
Trans arterial chemoembolisation(Tace) Is a palliative form of treatment which desires to control the disease where it cannot be completely finished. However it has good effect in prolongation the life of the patient. The procedure works in 2 ways. It's not only supplies the chemo therapeutic drug to the tumor through the blood vessels at the site of the tumor rather than to the whole body and thus producing high impact in killing the tumor cells. Simultaneously it also blocks the blood supply of the tumor and thus helps in doubling the effect of the treatment. It is carried by the highly specialized group of doctors called intervention radiologist who performe this procedure under the fluoroscopic guidance. It has limited complications like post procedure Pain and depletion in the normal functioning liver cells. However, it can be very well managed through the supportive medications. Both Tace and microwave ablation can be used alone or in combination to successfully treat the tumor.
TARE:
TARE is another advanced form of treatment which requires radioactive material to kill the tumor cells. It is mostly carried in advanced liver cancer to control the disease.
Treatment Success Rate
The success rate of all the treatments depends on the stage at which the disease is detected. The earlier the disease is detected, the higher the success rates. Mostly, if the disease is localised and small in size, it can be treated with curative intent through procedures like liver resection and microwave ablation. In many cases, liver tumours have been successfully treated through this approach over time.
Other procedures, such as TACE and TARE, have palliative intent in controlling the disease rather than completely curing it; however, in combination with other procedures, they can also have a curative impact.
liver cancer treatment cost:
Liver cancer treatment cost depends upon what treatment is taken.
Liver resection and liver transplant are highly expensive treatments and cannot be carried out in all patients. Microwave ablation and TACE are cost-effective treatments and can be done at less than one-fifth the cost of a liver transplant, can produce a complete cure of the disease, and are highly effective.

Best Liver Cancer Treatment Hospital
Liver cancer treatment requires a complex approach which is supported by multiple groups of doctors, like intervention radiologists, gastro-physicians and oncologists. Treatment is mostly done in hospitals where the entire group of doctors are available.
Intervention radiologists are a highly Expert group of doctors who help in the treatment of the disease in a minimally invasive manner.
IRfacilities is a group of intervention radiologists who are highly skilled in the treatment of liver cancer. They have treated more than 1000 cases of the liver tumour and not only provide treatment, pre-treatment counselling and also post treatment support together with the treatment itself. They are a highly expert group of doctors in their field who deal with cases, both from the domestic and international arena and have successfully cured many cases of liver cancer.
Prevention and Early Treatment
Prevention of the liver cancer can be done in preventing the associated agents. Viral infections are important causes that have been associated with the liver cancer and does vaccination for hepatitis b viruses can be helpful. Early treatment of hepatits c should be done with regular monitoring using the ultrasound and CT scan to detect the cancer at early stage.
Early treatment of fatty liver is important. With all the medical aspects good healthy lifestyle should be followed with regular excercise and prevention of alcohal intake.
